MADHU'S PREDICTIONS - WRONG!
FROM AN INTERNATIONAL CONTRIBUTOR

MADHUSUDAN PREDICTS THAT COVID-19 WILL BE GONE IN TWO MONTHS
In a recent meeting with a small group of Italian devotees, Madhusudan Naidu made two potentially dangerous and irresponsible claims. Madhusudan told his followers that good people have nothing to fear from the Coronavirus pandemic, as they will be protected from it and that the pandemic will be gone within two months.
The author of the article [a follower of Madhu] also makes the claim that Madhusudan has halted the spread of Coronavirus in Singapore:
The author of the article [a follower of Madhu] also makes the claim that Madhusudan has halted the spread of Coronavirus in Singapore:
“To bring change in the world there would be some natural calamities. without wiping out dirt, cleaning is not possible. so be prepared!” [Madhusudan] told during a public discourse in Sathya Sai Premamrutham Hall less than a year ago.
[Madhusudan] received some devout Italians yesterday in Premdeep. There were 11 of them and the interview lasted less than 15 minutes. The devotees asked [Madhusudan] for His blessings for the whole world considering the situation we are all in.
[Mdhusuda]said:
what is happening is not for evil but for the good of humanity & the planet because we must learn to live differently.
Mother Earth is rebelling against the misbehaviour of the human being. The earth is & will be there in thousands of years and we no longer are.
The way we are now, we are not living according to the right rules, so the earth is rebelling. This situation will teach us
*to be less selfish,
*more inclined to others,
*more attentive to nature and animals.
*We must become vegetarians.
[Madusudan's] goal is to convert at least half of humanity into vegetarians. The body and the stomach are not the tomb of animals but the temple of God.
Things will go well, have faith & not fear because He is with us. Pray, man must learn to turn to God.
The real viruses are selfishness, attachment, anger and greed and we are all paying the price.
A devotee by the name Ana asked when will it end?
[Madhusudan] said, "about 2 months later it will finished”.
“It has to bring change in people into good, it will happen”.
He said that “virus problem is useful to show people who feel they are very powerful, actually do not have any power at all. They have to believe in God, must learn to pray, and stop being selfish, must learn to help others.”
[Madhusudan] materialized two chains for a couple and answer their personal questions.
Finally [Madhusudan] said “nothing to worry good people will be protected”. This statement is so true as it happened in Singapore.
Initially, after China, the most effected country by coronavirus was Singapore. Over 300 people were tested positive but all of a sudden the virus totally stopped spreading. Not even a single person died of Coronavirus.
[Madhusudan] visits Singapore very often and his first ashram abroad is there.
Quite a number or devotees from Singapore are very dedicated to [his] mission. They selflessly help a lot in building and running [his] free Hospitals and School campuses for the poor and needy around the world. We feel it’s their good deed and [his] Grace that protected Singapore people completely.
Not one death happened due to the virus, it's indeed a miracle we would say!

THE TRUTH
The above author claims that Madhusudan predicted the Coronavirus pandemic. He says that the spread of Coronavirus in Singapore miraculously stopped at 300 cases and that not one person has died in Singapore.
It is true that Singapore has relatively few Coronavirus cases and one of the lowest death rates in the world. However, the author attributing this to the presence of Madhusudan and his followers is a classic case of confirmation bias at best. At worst, it is an attempt to mislead his followers in order to prop up their faith, which has been shaken a few times recently.
Let’s examine these claims, then look at the facts these claims ignore and the danger Madhusudan’s irresponsible claims represent.

DID Madhusudan predict Coronavirus?
Madhusudan’s followers are now trying to spin the Coronavirus pandemic as one of the calamities that he has been predicting since 2015. However, the evidence shows that Madhusudan had no idea that this pandemic would happen. Here are the facts:
Last year, Madhusudan said that he would tour Europe in early 2020:
Last year, Madhusudan said that he would tour Europe in early 2020:
Next year, I am coming again to Europe, touring for a full month. (Applause) All of you can be present in your own countries, for I will come to see you there. - Madhusudan Naidu, Croatia, July 2019, p. 15

Next year when I come, we will all meet in the ashram. All of you will be comfortable because it will not be hot like this. I will come to Europe next year and visit many countries. You will not have to go anywhere. I will come to all the countries!

Accordingly, his followers, in each of the countries he promised to visit, made extensive and expensive preparations for his arrival during March-April of 2020. Below are the invitations to just two of Madhusudan’s European tour programs: Germany, which was booked for early April, and Ukraine which was scheduled for late March:
As is usual, his followers were required to bear the cost of all the business or first-class flights for Madhusudan and his entourage, their hotel accommodations and transport, as well as the costs for venues for his programs. As we can see, these preparations were completed, and his events had already been publicised in anticipation of his arrival.
However, after all his promises and all of their preparations, and despite his frequent claims that he knows the future, Madhusudan has now been forced to cancel his European tour at the last minute due to the growing Coronavirus pandemic in Europe.
Madhusudan claims to be the omniscient Sathya Sai Baba. Why then did this happen, even after Madhusudan promised he would come to Europe and asked his followers to make preparations for his European tour? Because Madhusudan had no idea that this pandemic was going to happen.
The facts speak for themselves. Despite his followers trying to retrospectively rewrite history by claiming that Madhusudan foresaw this, his words and actions show that Madhusudan completely failed to predict the Coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately for his followers in Europe, it appears that they will now be left to manage the financial fallout of his failed tour in the middle of this pandemic.

HAS Donating to Madhusudan protected Singapore from Coronavirus?
The author also claims that there were only 300 cases of Coronavirus confirmed in Singapore, but that the virus suddenly stopped spreading. Like many of the claims made by Madhusudan and his followers, this is completely false.
On the day the post was written, the Coronavirus case tally in Singapore was actually 385 cases and growing. The following day there were 432 cases and growing. Sadly, there are currently 732 cases and this number is still growing every day.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
Even more sadly, the author’s claims that there have been no Coronavirus deaths in Singapore are now no longer true. The day after the author claimed that Madhusudan’s presence had ensured that there were no deaths, Singapore reported its first two deaths from Coronavirus. Let us all sincerely pray to Swami that this number does not grow.
Madhusudan’s follower claims that the relatively small number of cases and deaths in Singapore is due to the fact that Madhusudan frequently visits Singapore and because his followers have donated a lot of money to Madhusudan’s organisation. The truth is that Singapore’s success with limiting Coronavirus has been due largely to the measures put in place by Singapore’s government, including rigorous testing, quarantine and contact tracing:

The author’s claim that Singapore’s Coronavirus cases miraculously stopped at 300 due to Madhusudan’s influence are clearly false. It is also clear that neither Madhusudan’s presence in a country, nor donating money to Madhusudan’s cause, constitute any kind of magical protection from Coronavirus.

MADHUSUDAN MAKES Irresponsible and dangerous claims!
Madhusudan also made two irresponsible and potentially dangerous claims in an almost Trumpian attempt to downplay the danger that this virus represents.
First, he tells his followers that there is nothing to worry about, as good people will be protected from the pandemic.
So, are all of the 27,000 men, women and children who have died so far ‘bad’ people in Madhusudan’s estimation? Are the further 22,000 currently in critical condition also possibly just ‘bad’ people? No. The truth is that good people all over the world have died from this virus already, some of them doctors and nurses who have sacrificed their lives while trying to save others.
Madhusudan has also told his followers that the Coronavirus pandemic will all be over in two months. This would be wonderful, if it were true. But expert advice puts that figure at anywhere between 6 months and 2 years. The idea that Coronavirus will disappear in 2 months is considered highly unlikely:

https://www.theatlantic.com/family/archive/2020/03/coronavirus-social-distancing-over-back-to-normal/608752/
What is the likely effect of Madhusudan’s claims that ‘good people will be protected’ and that the virus will be over within 2 months?’ Due to his claims, Madhusudan’s followers believe that he is God, for all intents and purposes. Whatever he says, they are going to believe him. And as we have already seen, they will ignore facts or falsify information to satisfy their need to believe him.

the dangers of believing a false teacher
Madhusudan has already told them that they are God’s 'chosen few' and they believe him. Now they will believe that their ‘God’ has told them that they will be protected from the virus and that it will all be over soon. Since they believe him to be God, Madhusudan’s claims will inevitably encourage some among his followers to ignore the health measures necessary to slow the spread of the pandemic, because they believe their ‘God’ is protecting them. Unfortunately, with a virus as communicable as Coronavirus, it only takes one such person in a crowded place to spread this virus to everyone around them.
After all, why should Madhusudan’s followers adhere to social distancing or hygiene requirements when they believe they are not just good people, but God’s chosen who have been promised protection? Why should they worry about the virus when he has promised that it will all be over in 2 months? They saw him travel to Hong Kong in February during the Coronavirus outbreak there, even though other countries had banned entry to those who had visited Hong Kong at the time. They saw a video of him attending a crowded gathering there and saying that his followers were protected and should not be worried about catching the virus. They have also seen him travelling around India and holding large gatherings, even after multiple warnings that failing to observe social distancing would put lives at risk. Since he and his entourage don’t appear to observe social distancing rules, why should his followers feel that they need to? Madhusudan’s irresponsible claims and actions could easily lead to a catastrophic jump in the number of Coronavirus victims in India.
Something analogous has already happened in South Korea. Shincheonji is a South Korean cult with a claimed membership of around 250,000. Just as Madhusudan claims that the spirit of Sathya Sai Baba has entered his body, the leader of Shincheonji claims the spirit of Jesus Christ has descended and entered him. In February, believing Shincheonji’s leader’s words that they had divine protection, the members of the cult continued holding large crowded meetings. Due to the teachings of their leader they ignored the need for social distancing and other protective measures. What was the result?
A single member continued attending these large meetings after experiencing Coronavirus symptoms, spreading the virus to dozens of others who were present. Within ten days, Shincheonji became the epicentre of the Coronavirus pandemic in South Korea. Now, 62.8% of the 9000 cases of Coronavirus in South Korea have been linked back to the irresponsible actions of this cult and its leader. All it took was a single follower ignoring common sense, due to the advice of the cult’s leader.
Like the leader of Shincheonji, Madhusudan has thousands of followers according to his own claims. Like the leader of Shincheonji, Madhusudan claims to be possessed by the divine. Like the leader of Shincheonji, Madhusudan holds large gatherings in his hall in Muddenahalli and elsewhere. Like the leader of Shincheonji, Madhusudan appears to be downplaying the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic. Like the members of Shincheonji, Madhusudan’s followers believe his word to be the word of God. And like the outbreak caused by members of Shincheonji, all it would take is one of Madhusudan’s followers ignoring quarantine and health requirements because of his assurance that they have nothing to worry about.
Will Madhusudan’s organisation, also become the centre of a massive outbreak of Coronavirus in India, as Shincheonji did in South Korea? Time alone will tell.

IN ADDITION Madhusudan useS scare tacticS to control his followers
Since 2015, Madhusudan has made use of a scare tactic to control his followers, by predicting that we are going to see all sorts of calamities such as wars, conflicts and natural disasters happening over the next 11 years.
In 2019 alone there were 409 natural disasters and over 40 wars or armed conflicts around the world! So over an 11 year period, of course there are going to be wars and natural disasters!
These kind of predictions are like Barnum statements, generalised statements presented by frauds as predictions or psychic perceptions, but which are so vague that they will be applicable to a large number of people or situations. What Madhusudan is making is less a prediction than a safe bet. Let’s face it, when has there ever been an 11 year period without wars and natural disasters of some kind happening somewhere in the world? Never.
But while Madhusudan has mentioned wars, conflicts and disasters etc, he has never provided any specific details about his predicted disasters. He has definitely never said anything about a worldwide pandemic.
Why? Because he had no clue that the Coronavirus pandemic was actually going to happen. He was just trying to use vague predictions of disaster to scare his followers into staying with him through all of the glaring errors he makes. Telling them that there were disasters coming but that he would save them, so they would be frightened into believing themselves to be dependent on him.
Madhusudan has admitted that he was taught to use this tactic when he sold insurance for a bank: “I was a banker and we would scare people, ‘What if you die; what will happen to your wife? Take this insurance!!’ ‘What will happen to your children? Take this education policy!’ ‘What will happen to your parents? Take this medical policy!’ We would scare people. The whole financial planning feeds on fear of uncertainty of the future. We were told to talk like that so that we can scare them so much.”
Madhusudan Naidu, Tattva Sameeksha talk in Muddenahalli, 21 January 2019, https://www.facebook.com/SriSathyaSaiVrindaOfficial/posts/there-will-be-fifteen-and-the-sixteenth-will-join-a-little-later-the-first-seven/986005658261630/
Still, his followers are now trying to claim he predicted Coronavirus, with about as much credibility as a certain president saying he knew this was a pandemic before anyone else.

What did Madhusudan tell his followers to do when the disasters start?
Here's the concerning part for all of the people in all the countries Madhusudan has ashrams in, which is at least 20 countries. What did Madhusudan tell his followers to do when the disasters start?
He told them to go to his ashrams around the world because they would be safe there.
Now, the disaster we're facing (which he is now retrospectively trying to claim foreknowledge of) is a virulent pandemic in which we are told not to congregate in large numbers in enclosed spaces. Instead, Madhusudan’s followers are going to think that they need to go to his ashrams in order to be safe.
Ask yourself : If Madhusudan really knew that a pandemic was coming, why would he tell his followers that they should gather in his ashrams for safety? This is the exact opposite of safe behaviour in a pandemic!
So the question remains - what happens when all his followers go and crowd together in his ashrams around the world to stay safe from Coronavirus?
Sadly, we can already see what will happen, because it’s happening all around the world and Muddenahalli will not be exempt.
Chikkaballapur district, where Muddenahalli is located, has the third highest number of Coronavirus cases in Karnataka and the figures are growing each day. So much for Madhusudan's promise that his followers have nothing to worry about.
If Madhusudan's followers obey him and congregate in his ashrams around the world, it could easily result in them creating a super spreader event, just like the one caused by the cult in South Korea
And if that happens, Madhusudan will get all the media attention he has ever craved and more. The whole world will know his name. It'll just be for all the wrong reasons.
